{for the beauty}

For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.
my sweet niece took this photo
and it made me think of this old hymn.
{what a lovely photo, Colette. Thank you}

{apple saturday}

This past Saturday was an Apple Saturday...
While in Nebraska, visiting my family, we visited this orchard.
we picked apples, grapes and the kids picked out pumpkins.

My niece and I walked around taking pictures
and she took the picture above.
{mind you she is 10, amazing girl}
we had apple doughnuts, bought apple cider and blackberry syrup...
The best part?
My brother is a chef, made us an amazing meal inspired by autumn.
a salad with greens, apple, pear,toasted walnuts, goat cheese, and a homemade vinaigrette
pork chops dressed with fennel, apple and Gouda
delicious and creamy polenta
braised kale
and don't forget the apple crisp.
{we are very spoiled}

please don't mind me... .........................

I just found this shop on Etsy,

and I cannot help
..................but show you all my favorite color combinations...

like this one... Candy Corn.
Darling, right?

{paper girl}

what am I surrounded by most days?
vintage paper
pretty paper
paper that bears my designs
{lots of that}
even though I have my own card company,
I cannot help but be drawn to paper.
I view Evite as an enemy and wish for the days in the past
that people sent out invitations in an envelope
adorned with a stamp.

that is just a little something I was thinking about today
as I am working with paper.

I am happy to be a paper girl.

a darling garland is available on her site with the word Boo!
Handcrafted by Lark & Lola, this garland features the highest grade glitter, crepe paper ruffles, and is strung on a lovely orange ribbon complete with bows on each end.
Go here take another look.

There are also garlands with the phrases "BEWARE", "SPOOKY", or "WICKED".
