let them eat cake.

{my "gateau" note card}

If I was going to be in another career field, I would be a pastry chef. Since my brother took all of the culinary skills in my family and is a fabulous chef, I am simply left to just draw pastries, cakes, cupcakes and other sweet things.

I do love cupcakes but I am thinking cake today for some reason. Here are two cake shops I have long admired and would love to visit and experience some day and the links to their websites that you really must check out.

k rose cakes. washington d.c. {this could almost be my cake company--k rose? kara rosenberry? I wish!} This gallery is full of the most lovely cakes. Take a peek!

miette cakes. san fransico. ca and the miette blog. they also have a candy shop that I would love to check out.

I would love to know who think makes fabulous cakes::your favorite local cake maker, a place you would like to visit someday...? Please share!

i love a good wedding!

Pretty flowing dresses...

cake....

a pretty setting...

good friends. food. and flowers...
I love it...
pictures from Bonnie and Drew's wedding, June 6, 2009. I just so happened to be standing at the bottom of the stairs when my friend Bonnie, the bride started running up the stairs in her dress. I grabbed my camera and took a quick picture.
......................................
I did the wedding invitations for the above wedding earlier this year...I cannot wait to launch my full line of wedding invitations this fall. There will be a cupcake invitation, a bee, a dragonfly, and of course the chandelier... all of the designs I have now can be put into any invitation, save the date, stickers for favors, etc.... It is going to be fabulous and fun. Stay posted for me to release little bits here and there before I completely launch the kara rosenberry bride line.
I am totally behind in blog land because of family and company in town, orders, etc. I received two blog awards last week which I plan to follow up on and there is much more happening. I will be back soon!

I made all of these handmade items for the Sweet William Market a few weeks ago and hadn't posted the pictures. The most amazing thing is that I haven't made anything since my cards for the last 5 years. It was so fun to create things again!
p.s. don't forget about the giveaway of my chandelier cards on Molly Lou Gifts.

{ahhh Peonies}

pretty. pretty. pretty.

{I love peonies. They are one of my favorite flowers. So ruffle-y and soft}

My wonderful friend Emily, who I did the Sweet William Market with, brought me this bouquet of peonies last night. On Friday night, she was getting ready for a wedding and I had to pop over and see her amazing floral designs. I stayed for a few hours and helped, loved every minute of it and learned alot.
Last night, Emily was so gracious to bring me some peonies! Emily will be launching her website very soon and she is an amazing florist. By the way, you can buy her amazing coffee filter and vintage adorned wreath right here on Etsy. Stay posted and I will let you know when she puts her fabulous headbands on Etsy as well.
Happy Monday!

Let me first start by giving credit to my three amazing and creative talented friends, Betsy, Megan and Emily for without them, this booth wouldn't have been so fabulous. We had so much fun and had so many amazing handmade products in our booth. It was like a little store. I have always wanted to collaborate in a Market like this and it was so fun. Hope you enjoyed our pictures! There are lots of them!
